Senior Semiconductor Laser Engineer

The Senior Semiconductor Laser Engineer will develop quantum dot lasers for emerging datacom applications, by working with other experts to design, fabricate, characterize, and analyze quantum dot lasers and other photonic components. Responsibilities include performing design and fabrication of laser and other photonics devices; performing materials characterization; fabricating photonic devices in a cleanroom setting; characterizing lasers and other devices; conducting data analysis and preparing presentations summarizing data; participating in meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications desired for this position include a bachelor’s degree and an advanced degree in engineering or science, 3+ years of experience in semiconductor laser design, fabrication and test, proficiency with simulation and design tools, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage technicians, and excellent planning skills.
